Hello, I would like to know what the scale of the grid should be for these blocks. Thank you! And these are very cool sprites.

Hi there! Thanks for the feedback, happy to hear you enjoy the assets!

Let’s figure this out together. Scaling grids can be confusing across different Game IDEs. To understand your request better, could you tell me:

• What game engine are you using (e.g., Unity, Godot)? • Do you have any specific documentation you’re following for the import process?

Knowing these details will help me offer the best advice on grid scaling for your particular setup.

If you’re using Unity, check out this asset pack specifically designed for Unity’s Tilemap component: https://devilsworkshop.itch.io/isometric-tiles-pixel-art

It should import smoothly and work well with your project.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need further help.

I am using unity, sorry i forgot to include that.

Also thank you for the answer.

Also when I meant grid scale I meant the scale of the grid so I could align the blocks like in the image. I have another issue, when I try to place blocks around a different block it doesn't place it where I want it. Just look at the image. Thank you!

Got it. You are currently using Unity’s Tilemap component to make a isometric scene. Have you tried the other pack on your project?

https://devilsworkshop.itch.io/isometric-tiles-pixel-art

Yah I used the other one but I was having the same problem.

Do you think you can share this project with me. If yes, can you upload to dropbox or something similar for me to download?

Hello!
Let me share about my dreamgame okay? It's really simple.
I would love to have a game with no boarders, very high zoom (to see from very far and close), rotation (4 turn is fine really to make 360) and make 1-5 level (so you can lift up the terrain for example) with tons of blocks and items so I can make mini dioramas with a simple save button.
Would be nice on all system (win-linux-mac-android) so anyone could play it.

No crafting, no monsters, no adventures, no resource hog program, no advertisement.

A very plain, simple, free hobbiapp that even I can handle just for relaxing. (And to make pretty pictures :D)

You have so many pretty things, I wish someone would make that from your assets :)

Comments like this are why I love supporting this community. This shared space helps people dream. Dreams of being creative and expressing themselves through games. Games that are made by them, for them.

Thank you for your kind words of appreciation. @Ecklair I hope that every day you get closer to making your dream game a reality!

Hello, I'm Kinesis, a high school student game developer.

I want to participate in a game contest in my country, so is it okay to use your Asset for my game?

Of course, I will attach the credit, and I will also leave a play link when the post is successfully completed in the contest!

Thank you.

(+1)

Kinesis, you are welcome to use these assets for your game dev projects! If there are any more assets you need for your school project email me at hello@devilswork.shop and I’ll send you keys to download any other packs here. Cheers and all the best on your projects

hi, it's me again! i wanted to ask if you plan to release animated blocks in the future? i tried animating the water block by myself for my jamgame but unfortunately it didn't look very good.

(+1)

Good call on that request Cratuss. I have not done this kind of animation before. If you have an example file, or an animated gif of what you are expecting I could work with you to make that water tile animated. Feel free to mail me at hello at devilswork.shop

(+1)

i thought you could for example animate the water block. a flowing water animation would be great. you even could add a lava block with a similar texture and animation.

maybe something like this: click

or this:  click

or even tiles like this: click

other ideas would be quicksand, gears or whatever^^ i hope you got the idea :)

Hi there! :)
I came across your page recently and i loved your work.
I am currently working in a university project and i would like so much to use some of these in my animated video. Sincerely I am asking for your permission!

Ah thank you for asking! This is a first for an non-interactive request. You are free to use these assets for your university project. minipersong. Id love it of you could post either your work in progress or your completed project here, please :)

hi! i made a little game in Unity for a game jam using your 50x50 Blocks :) here the link: https://cratuss.itch.io/fruitboat

Marc, Really good game design for a one of my favorite game jams! I got though till the level with the blue checkered square and gate. Curios - how many levels deep does this game go? Three recommendations if you have more time to work on the game

  1. Definitely give players an option to restart a level - The first time I came across the checkered square level I got suck there for quiet sometime, really wishing I could reset that level
  2. The one way to tab though the navigation is to use the mouse, but the rest of the game is keyboard based. Suggestion - tapping ‘E’ or any of the arrow keys should help solve that
  3. This game definitely belongs to newgrounds.com, if you have not already done that

Excellent work Marc, I’m looking forward to more development work from you

Just adding this updated link here for others to play too https://cratuss.itch.io/fruitboat

Thank you for your long and detailed answer! I'm glad you like it!

Unfortunately, I had not had enough time to create as many levels and mechanics as I originally wanted. That's why there were only 9 levels (the level with the first blue platform is 7). If I find time in the future then I would like to make the most different levels with your asset pack! I thought of a desert level, snow level and much more!

1. Yes! in any case I will add a restart button. I have often received this advice and I wonder why I have not thought of it myself. :D

2. I don't know exactly what you mean by that. do you think you should be able to control the game completely with the keyboard instead of having to rely on the mouse? I was going to rework the controls anyway. Especially to add gamepad support.

3. to be honest i didn't know this site. Is it like itch.io?

(+1)

9 levels! great - I think I came pretty close to the end. Gonna replay the game to get till the end. I love the idea of the new themes. Do tell me if you are looking for more assets, including more props and characters.

With regards to the navigation - I didnt realize that the game is controllable with mouse only. I believe the instructions were all for keyboard including some of the non-diegetic instructions that mentioned using ‘E’ to interact. With the default interaction inputs that exist now (Mouse + Keyboard) I would also add a keyboard for ‘continue’ text.

Gamepad would be really helpful - I think for an isometric game that would be extremely helpful, but I am that target audience that uses a PC with no gamepads.

Newgrounds.com is a game site that’s been around for close to 25 years, on a similar note - sites like armorgames.com, miniclip.com, and kongregate.com These sites welcome short games like yours

Thanks! just wondering what software did you use to make this? maybe I could start make my own assets, thanks in advance!

You are welcom, Muazr! The process to create these assets were a bit round about and there are definitely better methods. I used Adobe Photoshop to create all the textures. I also used Cinema 4D’s cube to apply these textures and render them in all the directions.

Like I said, terribly round about process. If I had to to do this the correct way, Id use Aseprite, or any pixel art application and draw them in pixel isometric angles. Hope you find this information useful - cheers to your adventures!

Is it just me or the license isn't stated? But gonna ask anyways. Can I use this awesome asset commercially? :D

Thanks! Yes you may. Do post a link here once you have released your works commercially.

The license is available in the readme.txt file

Just to make it super easy - I'm going to post it here too

Ive updated the assets packs with the license

Could I pay you to teach me how to create isometric blocks for unity level creation?

Im not sure I fully understand your request and correct me if I'm off. Do you need to learn how to create isometric blocks for unity (in general) , or do need you to create an isometric level in unity using these isometric blocks?

I just want to make the isometric blocks.

For sure!
Get in touch with me at help(at)devilswork.shop and we shall figure out next steps
